Following an incredibly inspiring photography workshop with Magnum photographer Patrick Zackmann I was urged to turn my lens away from the on stage action to the audience and try to tell a different sort of story. Summer festivals have an atmosphere unlike any other event and this became more evident to me when I tried to find other settings that would provide me with material to extend this photo series.
This is what I saw around me in Plissken Fest, while enjoying the sounds of Mogwai, Savages and others: people drinking, enjoying music, being careless or working. Most definitely a unique setting beyond daily normality, where people seem to feel (more) free. By Monday we all had to go back to work, but I guess it’s moments like these that keep you going.
